Open Source Online Grocery Store

Prior to approaching SciMed, this client had developed an application internally used to research purchasing behavior and data for grocery store products. However, the application was limited. Their goal in working with SciMed was to expand the existing application’s functionality, improve its security, make it easier to maintain the application, and develop new features that would help to conduct research.

PWA Customization Project

We took on the PWA Customization Project in 2020 to help a client customize their existing enterprise project management system, a custom Microsoft Progressive Web App (PWA). What our clients are saying about us

I can't say enough nice things about SciMed and the way they helped us translate our vision into a working system. During the first design phase of REX, they gave our vision structure and then took us through a rigorous feedback system that made sure we were always getting what we really wanted. For example, after we would specify the desired feature in our own language, they would articulate their understanding by asking, "Here is what we're hearing - is this actually what you want to see?"

Then, in the development phase, they would always show us the emerging product, so that we could give them early feedback on whether they were making what we truly wanted. SciMed's system was very efficient, and it allowed us to realize early in the process that sometimes the way we had conceived things in our head might not be the most effective way to roll something out.

Associate Director for Finance, Administration, and Planning, the Robertson Scholars Program

“SciMed is not just a software company. They have the approach of asking questions and probing for more information with the sole purpose of truly being able to produce a more valuable product. They've demonstrated repeatedly that they really want to understand the process and they want to understand the pain points. They want to understand everything they can about our business.”

Associate Vice Chancellor for Research and Director of the Office of Research Information Systems, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

“I'm not a software developer but I know the difference between good professionals and bad ones. From the very first meetings with SciMed, it was quite clear that we were working with an organization that really knew what they were doing and was going to do its utmost to make our system as robust as it needed to be.”
